Drywall for Site Managers

Who is this course designed for?

The course is primarily intended for a clerk of works, site manager, foreman, or indeed anybody in a supervisory role overseeing drywall contracts.
The intention is to increase awareness of the systems available and alternative ways of tackling design problems, and to ensure that the right standards are applied and expected of the work being supervised.
Training Objectives
On completion of the training the trainee will:

  • have a more thorough knowledge of drywall products and systems, and their relative capabilities (linings, partitions, ceilings and fire protection to steel)
  • be able to make accurate judgements on the suitability of a system for a given purpose.
  • understand better the standards and regulations which apply to the construction of drywall systems from planning and setting out to finishing.
  • have an appreciation of the factors affecting the construction of drywall systems and therefore how best to maintain quality standards
  • - increase their knowledge of some of the solutions to on-site design problems
  • understand the principles of mechanical strength, fire resistance and acoustics from the viewpoint of drywall construction
Instructors' Qualification
The course will be run by one of Knauf’s experienced team of Project & Specification Managers or Technical Instructors, all of whom are either qualified in architecture or engineering, or are time served tradespersons in drylining, plastering and associated trades.
Achievement Measurement
Trainees will be assessed during the course as the instructors observe and discuss their progress and offer advice. An attendance certificate will be issued to all those who successfully complete the course.
