Standing 180m tall, the 40 storey Swiss Re building is constructed around a central steel core, with an external steel frame. It offers 550,000 sq feet (46,500 sq m) of net lettable space.
Shaftwall from Knauf Drywall was specified for 16 passenger lifts, two goods and two firefighting lifts, service risers, staircase enclosures and toilet enclosures. Shaftwall spans the entire 40 floors of the core of 30 St. Mary Axe.
