Construction boosted in South Yorkshire

People looking for construction jobs in Yorkshire may benefit from a £2 million investment to support local projects in the area. The Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT) has announced that it will invest the money in three organisations proposing schemes to support the construction industry.
Some of the funds will be used to provide companies with skilled recruits, while others will help train youngsters looking to break in to the construction industry and learn the skills of the trade.
Peter McNesty, chairman of the CRT, said: "We believe these schemes will make a significant long-term contribution to the quantity and quality of skilled construction workers in the local economy, thereby enabling more local firms to enter the supply chain for the many regeneration projects that are planned."
One of the main aims of the investment is to prevent the need to import skilled construction workers from abroad, while keeping the wealth within South Yorkshire.
The CRB was established in 1999 as a charity to help the quality of life for those people living in Britain's coalfield communities.
